Chirping Noise from my rear brakes...?
Hi fellow Etype owners. I have a 1962 Etype and I have this chirping noise coming from the area of the rear brakes. As the car heads down the road, I hear chirp chirp chirp....etc. etc. If I gently apply pressure to the brake pedal or if I gently lift up on the emergency brake lever by just an inch or so, the chirping goes away. When I remove the pressure on the brake pedal or lower the emergency brake lever, the noise comes back. If I repeat this same process, I can get the chirping to come and go depending on whether I have applied pressure to the brake pedal. Today I removed the rear brake pads from the Passenger side and cleaned them up but this did no good. It almost looks like the rotor on the Passenger side is not quite equal distance from the two pads.
Any idea what this might be? Any easy solutions or do I need to lower the entire rear end assembly and replace the rotors, pads, and calipers?
Thanks,
Jan
