Default cover for ignition switch wires?

Is there a cover/tube for the wires coming out of the back of the ignition switch? Seems odd that these wires would be exposed... Car is a 68 xke series 1.5.

It looks normal, except I would expect there to be a cover panel of some sort below the steering column. At some point the wiring will be 'loomed' using black tape or could be woven cover.

If you can look at another car it might be useful.

I'm pretty sure that Welsh now has an original style cover...Seems to me it's in the $50 range...I need one myself, but haven't pulled the trigger on it.

I can only speak for Series1, which definitely had black plastic cover. I know because I once replaced our ignition switch . . . back then, no restrictions on key cutting, and replacing the ignition switch (especially after lost keys) was a low cost Lucas generic replacement with 2 new keys.

Only problem for R&R ignition switch was the ease with which these covers could be broken . . . enough said?

Cheers,

Ken
