E type and d type heaven

Problem is these cars are now in the stratosphere, or even Outer-space price-wise so most of us impecunious Jaguar owners no longer bother looking as they are totally out of reach..
Norman Dewis was a Jaguar test driver and drove an E-type to Geneva for the 1961 show when the car was revealed to the world. He certainly keeps active for a man in his 90s !
Michael Quinn is the grandson of Sir William Lyons and was, I understand, the dealer principle at Creamers the central London Jaguar dealer, now sadly closed. Creamers was one of the oldest Jaguar dealers and occupied what were basically old mews-type stables in Kensington, but JLR wanted them to spend money improving and enlarging, but property in that area is so expensive this was impossible for them. I would have thought JLR could have made an exception here, but there you are.
I don't know who the others are but they no doubt own Jaguars

Sad thing I think I saw one of those sitting under a couple different colors of tattered tarps a couple hours ago when I went out for lunch sitting behind a run down house. It was BRG with the same grill / emblem and headlamp outlines and the first thing I thought was there's my XKR's grand daddy.
