Engine Rebuilders in the Detroit /MI Area
Starting a 1970 roaster project and will need a total engine rebuild. looking for experienced rebuilders in my area. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks much Bob , its a start.
John,
I was the manager of a auto machine shop in the 70’s and 80’s. Are you looking to drop off the engine and have the shop pull it all apart then do the machining and they put it back together? Or just drop off parts for machining and you reassemble?

To be honest I haven decide yet. I have been watching a very good U tube series,, "My Junk E Type Motor" as the shop owner disassembles and reassembles a seize 4.2 . I'm inclined to do the tear down myself but not sure about the reassemble yet. Currently my motor is frozen.

Personally I have used, although not recently.

At work we use Roush Industries for some of our testing and tear down reviews. I see they work on all sorts of engines when I visit. Of course Merlins (P-51), Foreign, Ford of course. Street, race, vintage engines.

Thanks for the tips. I have worked with Roush in the past and been in their engine assembly facility before. Seems like it would be hard ,and expensive, to get them to work on a single engine especially a 4.2 E type which has some assembly quirks. I think I need someone who has a lot of experience with these engines.
