After 20 years I got my 74 OTS running. However it would run perfect with perfect fuel pressure and then after about a minute would sputter and die. For some reason after it pumped to 3.5 pounds pressure it would
go down to zero while the engine was running. I would wait a few minutes and then it would pump up again perfectly and after a minute die. It has a new gas tank and all new filters. Long story short after much testing and head scratching I discovered I put the inline fuel filter backwards. It restricted fuel flow. Now it is purring. You can''t fix stupid.
A good post, just to remind all of us to check directions/orientation when "replacement is the reverse of removal". I once put a lever shock on backwards on my Midget, duh! but, pretty obvious, just a bit more work to get it on correctly.
