Default Header and stainless exhaust

Well, Ive got the complete kit when I purchased the new car.
It does not leak, it does not creak BUT , does anyone else have a thought on the sound?
Its in my 1966 4.2
Ive had my old systems fall off but it still sounded , DEEPER?
Any thoughts I would appreciate.

I have noticed that the sound change with SS exhaust is a common complaint on several Jag forums. Maybe an non SS resonator could deepen the exhaust note?

Thanks Alfred, Ive heard the same as well.
I'm not interested in open pipes or racing and always liked the look.
Its cutting down exhaust leaks in half with the header.
BUT , The pinking noise I'm not happy with, will run them for a week everyday see if carbon and heat change the tone.
If not I see one or two suppliers still have mild steel.
Then back to the cast manifolds.....
will see.....
Thanks again.

Stainless steel systems are always more noisy than the mild steel ones, as the metal can "ring". However, over time, as carbon deposits build up they get quieter.

I understand, I'm just old enough to enjoy the original sound.
For when I drive it, Iwant it to sound like an old jag not a Nissan Altima.
I think it was the header which was the worst part will know when all installed next week.
Wish me luck!

Well boys it's complete minus the resonators which are coming from a different supplier
once started the car is a lot throatier
after 20 miles or so and a couple of stop and starts it's back to what a real jag should sound like
boy the stainless resonators really fight the rest of the system
its obvious when you hit the gas!
its the last piece that sounds like wet farts and marbles
alot of work but well worth it
most understand after the car sat for ten minutes then restarted the purr was perfect
look at the pics closely a lot of upgrades but looks natural
grade 8 nuts with lock washers it will never loosen
