Need some help new here
Great Forum I have been reading for months. Now on to the good stuff. My dad who is in his late 80s bought a 1969 XKE FHC it was repoe from a local bank the 2nd owner blow the motor before the bank got it back this all took place in 1980. Dad had the motor rebuilt and many other things back then and drove the car for 50 miles and parked it inside the Barn with 5 covers over it. Im trying to find out if it is a series 2 or 1 1/2.Here are the build plate numbers car # 1R26546 Body# 4R21784 Engine#7R3502-9 is what it looks like Gear box KE4907. Any help would be great I do have it in my garage now and yes the motor does turn over having owned and worked on 2 F cars we all know what Enzo said about the Jag. Will be posting on here for help the car is really in good shape for as long as it had set I do have a list of parts that I will be looking for the car has 44000 miles and a good title. Thanks for your help and trust me I will be posting on here a lot for more help.

Thanks Gatekeeper. I will check this all so the car is Gray in color I'm sure that's not what the all the color but it does have a stripe down the bonnet clear to the back bumper it all seems to be the factory color but I have not seen to many with the stripe was this something that the 1st owner had painted on or did some come like this?
Welcome! From your car number, it appears that you have a series 2, 1969 FHC, built sometime in the summer of '69. Here is a link to the XKEData site showing cars surrounding yours: XKE Data - Search Results - Jaguar E-Type (XKE) information, articles, photos and register
