Default re: original docs for a 1961 E-type - RESOLVED

I have the original sales docs, owners manual, etc. for a 1961 xke roadster that my father purchased new.
It would be nice for the current owner to have these docs with the car, if the car is still around.
The serial number is:875297
If someone knows a better place to post this, pls. let me know.

Welcome to the forum Scott,

What a shame the E-Type didn't stay in the family together with the documents.

I've checked on the main Jaguar E-Type Registers and the serial number 875297 isn't listed.

The document set would be of great interest to the current owner if the car is still in existence. Unfortunately it would also be of interest to the unscrupulous who fake a vehicle history to cover a theft or increase the value.

I hope one of the E-Type owning members here spots your post and knows the whereabouts of the car.

Graham

I have been contacted by the current owner of the car. Amazingly the owner saw this thread. He did send me a purchase document with this serial number and a picture of a number stamping that matches this number. From what I can see, he is completely legitimate and has this car, which is in a restoration process at this time. Sometimes the Internet can make the world seem small.

Scott,

What a superb result.

I'm sure the present owner will be delighted with this important addition to his vehicle's history and I hope you get the opportunity to actually see your father's car again.

I've added RESOLVED to the thread title.
