Default G'day all

Hiya everyone.. just moved back to Texas, USA after living in Sydney, Au for 5 years. So, as you do, I picked up a GORGEOUS ebony XJ8-L, 2005 with only 41K miles. That's right... .41K miles, 10 year old car. Not a scratch or a fingerprint, and the seats don't even look sat in.. I am guessing a doctor's 3rd or 4th car to drive to golf or to visit his mistress lol.

Anyway, no issues yet, but I do like to get involved in the forums for whatever I am driving - normally a Land Rover Discovery, so not afraid to do my own work where its feasible.

For now I'll sit back and learn. This is my 3rd Jag, but my first under other than the original ownership (68 e-type and 78 xj-s in a previous life).

As to my first question, if someone can point me in the right direction whilst I get used to the forum search and structure - one tip I picked up when buying this is that I should have the transmission reset to factory settings to allow it to "learn" my driving style. a) is this true, and if so is it worthwhile? b) is it something that can be done by accessing the hidden diag mode in the touch screen?

Thanks in advance all!!

Adam

Welcome.

I suggest a post of your query in the X350 area. I feel sure the answer will be forthcoming.

Welcome to the forum Adam,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X350 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.
