Default Series 2 rear tail light side chrome

I just picked up two chrome pieces for the sides of my 69 Series 2 FHC (#4 in the drawing below). As usual with aftermarket pieces they didn't come with the mounting bolt, although there is a captive nut on the back side of each piece. It is non-obvious how they actual are attached the side of the tail light fixture so any advice or pics of your installed would be helpful.

Thanks
Bob

I don’t know myself, but could you tell me where you got them?

I have a 1970 OTS with these. There should be a bracket welded behind the tail light mount. The head of a long hex head bolt with flat washer slips up into this bracket. My sequence of installation: 1. Mount tail light assembly 2. Install bolt with washer loosely into chrome finisher to maximize length and hold up in place against light fixture slipping bolt head and washer into bracket 3. Tighten with end wrench in very limited space 4. Mine also had one flat head sheet metal screw which secured the chrome finisher to the bottom of the tail light assembly. I too purchased one of these from SNG and had to drill the hole for the screw in the finisher to line up with the existing hole in the light fixture. The hex bolt is 3"-4" long and I found it at Home Depot.

Here is the picture from the Series 2 Parts Book.
The bolt is 5/16-24 UNF 3½" long.
Don't forget that there is a rubber seal between the Tail Finisher and the body, it's the same profile as the one between the over rider and the bumper.
Cheers

Hi Andy,
It's the one sold by XKEBooks.com. They're not cheap but they are very useful, I got mine used off EBay.

Cheers
Rick
