Default Trying to track down a specific '64 XKE

Greetings! I’m new to the forum and have what is probably an odd question.

A little background first-

In dealing with my father’s estate, I found some interesting documents in his garage relating to his purchase of a (then) new 1964 Jaguar XKE Coupe while he was a young U.S. Army Captain deployed in Southeast Asia.

The documents include the original Car Order form and Bill of Sale (from a Baxter Automotive Group, Loo Choo Motors, in Okinawa), various Insurance documents from the New Zealand Insurance Co, and a Note and Chatel Mortgage document among others.

The vehicle was a 1964 Opal Silver Blue Jaguar XKE F.H. Coupe, Six Cylinder, Engine Number 3657-9, Chassis Number 889 233

Does anyone know if there is a way this information could somehow help me track down the vehicle (on the slim chance that it still exists) and reunite these documents with the current owner?

Any tips or information this group could offer would be greatly appreciated!

If it is still "alive" it might be found here:

Hi Mark,
I checked the XKE data base and the car is not there. That's where I would have sent you. From the cars close to your father's it would have been built at the end of September 1963.

XKE Data - 889233 - Jaguar E-Type (XKE) information, articles, photos and register

Hi Bob,
Thanks for responding, and for going the extra mile to check their database for me!
I know the odds of it surviving this long are slim, but I'll keep looking.

Hi Alfred,
Thanks so much for the quick reply!
Unfortunately the link takes me to a "Page not found" message.

Hi Mark,
Not every existing E-Type is listed on the data site. Another place to check would be on BAT (Bring a trailer), and check the serial numbers of the jags sold over the last few years. Just another place to check.
Good luck,
Bill.

Hi Mark,
Here is the link for the heritage certificate, but I don'r believe they can help you unless you presently own the car. What the Heritage Certificate will give you is how it was built, i.e. the int/ext color, the build date, the shipped date. It will confirm the engine number, trans number, chassis number and body number if you provide them. They cannot tell you if it still exist.

Hey Bill, thanks for the link. No luck on the specific vehicle, but a fun site to peruse nonetheless!
All the best,

Hi again Bob,
Yeah, looks like a great resource if you own a vehicle and want to authenticate it, but as you mentioned, not so much help in tracking down a location or owner.
Thanks anyway though!
Best,
-Mark

Mark,
I placed an inquiry for your father's car on another Jag site. Maybe we'll get a positive response from there.
Bill.
