Default V12 fan relay

Hi All, looking for a bit of help if anybody can assist ? I have s customer who recently bought an 1973 etype v12 and whilst in traffic, lost all dashboard electrics. His local electrician advised it was the electric fan relay at fault and advised a new replacement was needed. He then disconnected all the wires from the terminals and forgot ( unbelievable) which wires go on what terminal. The owner had called me today asking if I can assist.

There are 5 terminals on the relay, coded C1, C2,C3 W1 and W2. With the abcense of a work shop manual , I'm looking to locate what coloured wire goes on what terminal. So far the hopeless electrician has charged £100 and understandably my customer isn't happy. I'm personally not convinced the relay is at fault but a new one has been sourced and at least once connected, it can be discounted if the problem still exists.

This just posted on the UK site so trying to help the guy out.

Hello Jim,
I've jut taken a look at an S3 wiring schematic and it shows that the Black/Red wire is connected to W2 and the Green wire to W1, which is inverted to that shown in the picture.

Regards,

Brent

Thanks Brent. I too found that diagram and passed it on. I've just heard back that the guy is still having trouble with the fuse blowing even with the relay disconnected.

More investigation required it seems.

Thanks again.
