Angry What have I done!?!

Hi Folks,

The other day I moved my car from Ohio to Michigan on a trailer. As the battery was dead and I didn't have any jumpers handy, I put the battery from my truck in the XKE... back

I touched the leads briefly before I realized what I was doing. I heard a little electrical pop sound from the front of the engine. The car did start right up, but the fuel pump didn't work. It ran long enough to get it off the trailer. As the fuel pump is not fused, I have no idea what to look for here... much less the rest of the electricals. Thankfully there are no computers on board!

Any thoughts on what damage I might have done and what I might need to do to get the fuel pump working again?

Thanks,
Daniel

Alternator's diodes probably succumbed and relay to fuel pump or fused links.

disconnect fuel pump and hook a temporary wire from battery to it if it runs you know the relay for the pump is blown, replace it with a new one! (the subsitute ones from advance Auto are $10. and better than the originals but don't look like the Lucas.
