My '67 S1 FHC has a Suede Green interior. Does anyone know if the rear hatch trim finisher was actually this brighter green piece (part # BD20163GRN)? My car is just a two-owner one and it appears as if the original one was, but was painted to better match the Suede Green vinyl trim. Any clues appreciated!
Replying/updating my own query above, as I guess this one is a real head scratcher: Even the top interior businesses haven't responded or gave non-committal answers. So I did a fair bit of online searching for images of Series One cars with Suede Green interiors that looked to be mostly original, and it looks as if the brighter green color as shown above was painted to match, either at the factory or dealers, who knows? Learning that major parts houses such as SNG Barratt or Moss no longer offer vinyl interior dyes or paint for sale as British Auto USA once did, I managed to find a perfect match at my local Hobby shop: Tamiya plastic paint #TS-78, called Field Gray but definitely more green. That and some high quality adhesion promoter.
Hi jazverina,
wow, good find. I was going to say "Lucky find", but as you said, you did a fair amount of research on like. So, good job. I'm glad it paid off for you.
Bill.
