2018 F-pace 4 cylinder turbo 25-T
Ok- went over a large metal speed bump at the Mexico border. By coincidence, my odometer rolled to 73,500 and I thought of- this must be a service light. It was an engine light.
4 hours later- I get a red light that says critical oil level. I check the oil- as did 4 others and there was oil.
Went to auto zone- the code was cam shaft sensor bank 1.
I continued to drive as they did not have the sensor. Car sputtered and died.
had it towed to hotel. Whew taking it off the tow truck it started and then white smoke billowed everywhere.
it was pushed to a parking spot and now I need support.
im in the middle of Mexico with an authorized jag mechanic about an hour away.

Have the camshaft sensor fix and see what happens. The white smoke "could" be the result of a failed sensor. Check coolant level in the reservior. While checking the oil, smell the dip stick if it smells like coolant.
Don't start the car until it's inspected and fixed by a Jag specialist.
