Default 2017 f-pace 2.0 front radar sensor blocked?

So my f-pace showes a warning front radar sensor blocked on the dash which shuts off the cruise and auto braking. I purchased this car with a busted grill looked like somone backed into it. The sensor was popped out of its bracket but no visible damage. I snapped it back in and everything worked with no grill. I now have a new grill (aftermarket) and I get the sensor blocked message?? I can’t believe the grill would make a difference so assume the sensor might be the issue? Any ideas? If I get a new or used sensor will it need calibrated or can I just swap it out! I am about 1 hr to the nearest dealer so hate to take it in just to be told it needs a sensor and then bring it back again…

The sensor might had been compromized upon impact. My XF doesn't have a front sensor, but I have seen a lot of F-Pace that have it. Do you have an OBD2 scanner to see what the codes are?

Also I have a aftermarket grill would this have any effect? The center section of my grill was half missing when I got it, so I have no clue if it was all honeycomb or not but I see some of the grills have a rectangle which would be in front of the sensor? But my sensor is mounted in a bracket right in front of the a/c condenser about 3 inches behind the grill, it is not mounted to the grill? My new grill is all honeycomb.

If it worked prior to fitting the grille I'd suspect the new one is causing the problem, go back and see if anything looks like it could be causing a problem.

Aftermarket grill was the issue!! As I have said many times, it’s not what you know but what you don’t know that will get you!! Got an oem grill and everything works!!

Hello , do you found some sollution? From 2 months , we try to calibrate . Without emblem is ok , when we put emblem and give " blocked sensor".

@svr_bg

The solution is directly above your post, the aftermarket grille was the issue.
