2020 FPace Dull headlights
Bought a used 2020 FPace a couple years ago and have had issues since I bought it with really dull headlights. Replaced the halogen bulbs in it with new ones and these are just as dull. I mean it is really hard to see much at night, especially when raining! We don't drive much at night so we have let this issue slide a bit honestly.
Has anyone else had an issue with dull headlights that are halogen in their FPace? I searched threads but none really popped out at me either.
Our Jag mechanic says the only way to fix this is to convert them to Xenon headlamps w/ some sort of conversion kit to get really bright lights we can see with. I trust this guy as he has always done excellent work for us reasonably priced, but it just seems weird.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Yess something is weird. I've been reading forums from Jaguar and Land Rover and never have read a problem like yours. Maybe there is part associated with the headlight that is not getting enough voltage current from the battery or it's about to fail

Many of us have become accustomed to LED headlamps. HID headlamps seem to provide the same illumination; however, IMO they don't appear to be as bright because they don't produce as white a light. Halogen lights definitely don't produce a lot of illumination to start with.
It sounds like the headlamps might be aimed too low. Try aiming the headlamps. 7mm Allen wrench is all it takes to raise or lower the headlamps. (One cannot aim left or right.) Low beam should be 2 degrees down. High beam should be straight ahead. Find a solid wall; park the vehicle on a flat & level surface; measure the height of the bulb within the headlamp from the road surface; turn on the headlights; measure the height of the illumination on the wall; then, adjust accordingly. Don't aim the lights too high as they will reflect and ruin your vision in rain or snow.
Another solution is to replace the halogen light bulbs with aftermarket LED bulbs. The LED bulbs will present a lot of glare to oncoming drivers; however, you will have a lot more illumination.
Try Sylvania LED bulbs. They can be found at any auto parts store and cost ruffly $100 per pair of bulbs. Please keep in mind that aftermarket Sylvania LED bulbs are only legal in the U.S. when installed in fog lamps (OEM Jaguar fog lamps are already LED). Aftermarket LED bulbs are not legal for on road use in the U.S. when installed in the low beams or high beams (I believe that they are legal in Canada). However, if you still need more light after the headlamps have been properly aimed, this is the way to go. Just be prepared to fail a state safety inspection and accept a ticket if a police officer pulls you over. So, don't throw away the halogen light bulbs as you may need to reinstall them.

Mechanic replaced with a new Xenon headlights system. They worked fine until about a month ago. Now when started at night, the left bulb will be out and the right one is fine OR the next time she is started the right one might be out and the left ones is on!
Sometimes both will be on and then I lose just one.
It seems like the weirdest thing.
