But the optional engine, a 3.0-liter inline-six with an electric supercharger and a twin-scroll turbo, is new to the lineup. In addition to its dual forced induction techniques, the 3.0-liter uses a belt-driven generator and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery to store power gleaned while the engine is running and use that power later to boost acceleration and help smooth the engine's start-stop system. The six-cylinder can be had in a 335-hp or 395-hp version..
Looks-wise they really nailed it. Unlike new F-type looks that made it look like Mustang, the new F-pace look works on a taller "nose".
I agree, I like the new look. However, if I have to be nit-picky... I don't like where they went with the new tail lights, looks too LR and not Jag. Should have stayed curvy instead of the angular changes. Also don't care much for the exhaust / tailpipe. Pretty sure that's fake with standard round tube inside. The interior looks nice. I like the placement of the window switches and the dash is a refreshing update. Don't know if I'll be a fan of the gear selector. I think I prefer the one in the SVR. I need to go see in person, though definitely not in the market.
The new interior is definitely a step-up though still minimalist and not as luxurious as a Mercedes or a Range Rover.
Forget about the wood and leather of the Jaguars of yore.

I believe Jaguar is focusing on Sport-Lux, not Lux-Tech, and will leave the latter to LR. It's a driver's brand for those that love to drive, not to be driven. Based on that, I think they do a great job and is exactly why I prefer it to the others.
I like the Jag interior myself... it feels modern and sophisticated.
Last week, a friend was about to return her Mercedes GLE at the end of the lease. She wanted to pick up a different car and went to a JLR dealer to look at the F-Pace, similar lease payment, was appalled by the 'low rent' interior vis-a-vis GLE. She decided to lease another GLE.
I personally like simple and clean interior. It is very difficult to get ulta-lux right and not make it look cheap bling-bling. Of recent cars, I think only Mercedes S class managed to hit it reliably.
I don't know what these Jaguar marketing geniuses were thinking. Given the negative public perception of JLR products (poor reliability), the one good public perception (luxury wood and leather) they totally squashed with spartan interior and acres of cheap plastic and hard surfaces. Many people I know coming from the German brands went to look at the new Jags and were not impressed ("no feeling of luxury")...but VERY impressed when I showed them pics of my old XJ8L interior. Heck, even an entry-level Mercedes A220 sedan feels more luxurious inside than a big Jag.
Glad to see Jaguar is starting to address the luxury issue in the 2021 models.
I have always liked the f pace and they still catch my eye after all these years.
i think the refresh is clean and a nice upgrade. It may not be as luxurious as MB’s latest but it is more functional.
I currently have a 2019 GLE 43 AMG and can’t stand the infotainment system. Overly complicated and not intuitive. The auto start in particular is just plain stupid and worked way better in my 2014 Ram.
My wife has a 20 A250 with the new interior and while very techy I personally think overdone. So many options and sub menus I find it a distraction.
the touch screen in my 20 f type is much more intuitive.
call me old but simple trumps complicated every time.
I am seriously considering a trade if getting out of my current lease isn’t too costly

Yes, I agree.....Lexus can pull it off nicely also.
My wife and I really liked the pre-21s and were considering one some day, once we saw the refresh we immediately went to the dealership and made bad financial decisions.

If we were smarter and waited a year or two we probably would have, but impulsive decisions left us with what was on the lot. Luckily found one that was close enough to fall in love with.
What happened to the "hockey puck" shifter?? I, for one, liked it's straightforward, no-nonsense operation. The new one looks far too much like the overly complicated, POS shifter that my 2015 Jeep GC has......

It's pretty easy actually. There is a button on the front of it, and when you want to shift, press the button and move the shifter forward for reverse, move back once for drive and move back a second time for sport. And when ready to park, just hit the Park button next to it.

Oh, those are the best kind to make As long as the 'bad' one doesn't last a lifetime, you're good
I got a loaner 21 F Pace and I'm super impressed. The interior is clean, modern, and sporty. The paddle shifters are aluminum which feel luxurious and sporty, vs other cars with plastic paddle shifters.
The infotainment screen is amazing, and the 360 view system is out of this world. It is voodoo magic, really. Love the fast and modern user interface, and all of the great information on it.
The one question I have - what are the 2 options in the steering wheel adjustment button for? One shows "auto" and the other shows a steering wheel icon? I've switched between the two choices and can't tell a single difference.
There is no manual in the loaner so I can't figure out what it does.
The interior is fantastic. As a current owner I can attest. The exterior is beautiful...and every review says the same thing. The best thing of all is I live in Atlanta where there are a million Q5s, Macans, Cayenne's, etc... the F Pace is still unique...you don't see 3 every time you go to the store.
