Black screen
Happy thanksgiving everyone. I am in need of help. My screen on an 18 f pace has gone dark. I have tried soft and hard resets. The dealership says there is no communication to the screen. 3k to fix. Does anyone have any guidance on if this can be a do it myself, or just eat the 3K.
Usually no communication is a bad module, are you comfortable with electrical testing? I would start with checking the power/ground/CAN lines to the affected screen. This will determine if you have an issue in the screen itself, or somewhere up the chain. I can supply you a diagram and testing instructions if you have a decent DVOM and some test leads.

is it possible to just replace the entire screen, without the testing. The dealership told me what they would doGood morning- WE scanned your car and found no communication to the screen. You will need a new screen. The cost is $2714.40 for the part, and labor is 975.00(includes the $325.00 diag).Plus tax. The screen would need to be ordered. I did ask my manager about the class action suit. He said you would have to inquire to Jaguar per the letter you received. We do not have authority where lawsuits are in play. You could pay for the repair and possibly get reimbursed if that is the failed component for the lawsuit. Or you can wait and see what Jaguar is doing to move forward with the lawsuit., Either way let me know how you are going to proceed.

If it's a module that needs to communicate, it needs to be programmed when installed. So you could technically install it yourself, but the initial configuration would need to be completed by someone who can program it properly. Ft. Myers is one of my stores, pretty good team over there, I would trust their diag on it. The extended warranty from the class action applies to the infotainment controller itself, not the screens or any other components/labor.
