Default Cooling fan operating at full RPM

Hello everyone,

I have a f pace 2.0 petrol 300 AWD MY2019 I purchased in 2021.

In the last month I have noticed that the fan turns on about 30 seconds after starting the car and runs at full speed until the engine stops. It’s quite noisy.

I do not see any other symptoms of anything but I have not done any further diagnostics. It actually went to Jaguar for a service who also commented the fan is running at full speed but offered nothing else.

I did read about the H291 recall and I questioned the dealer if my car had received the update as I have the same symptoms. They said yes and provided me with the date the update was performed.

Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? Could the h291 issue return? The car is out of dealer warranty by 1 month and they don’t seem that interested in supporting me without extensive costs for fault finding.

thanks in advance

Do a re-boot of the system by disconnecting the cable on 12volt battery for 5 minutes, then reconnect . If the result is still the same, try doing this.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to disconnect the battery but no difference. I have bought an obd reader and we check the temperatures etc.

I plugged in to the obd port and the b1s2 air intake temperature sensor seems to be always at 129 degrees Celsius regardless whether the engine is off or on etc. I think this is the temperature sensor post the turbo and I assume this is why it is setting the fan on to full constantly.

I have sent the car to a garage to have the sensor replaced. Will report back if it cures the issue.

thanks again

Forgot to update. Sensor was replaced and it solved the issue.

It's sad to learn that a JLR service center couldn't diagnose and solve a problem that you were able to identify.
