Fuel smell in cabin
My car has been emitting a fuel smell in the cabin but when placed on a diagnostic machine it does not register that anything is wrong. After two days with Jaguar they said they figured that it was the fuel injectors. I have a diesel engine. The parts alone are 4000. Has anyone else had this issue?
I have smelled fuel in the cabin a few times, but I don't think it was from the engine compartment. I think it was from the additive containers and funnel in the back of the car. I hope. The diagnosis of its the fuel injectors sounds like BS to me. The fuel injectors would have an external leak that would be visible, and most likely just a hose, or a bad injector copper seal with blow by. The injectors themselves (the expensive part) would not need to be replaced. I think you need to take it to a different shop, That actually knows what they're doing.
