Default Lease end purchase worth it? 2021 FPace

Hi, I have a 2021 F-Pace 250 with 15k miles coming off the lease (with extension included). Have about 18 months left on warranty. Car is in pristine condition, in Florida garaged. Love the car and the color (Hakuba Silver), never considered buying back my leased car before. Its about 30k to buy. Does it make sense? I could lease a 2025 (not the color I want) for about 900-1000/month. There is no discernible difference between the features. Or I could leave Jaguar and look for something else. But I love the FPace but have to say I have no interest in any EV model that would come after this. Anybody have any thoughts on this! Thank you!

It's a good car. The engine is topnotch. MPG is very good. I have the same engine in my 2018 XF. Rock solid. Just a tip: it has a Turbo engine, bear in mind, to slow down while you appproach your home or work so that Turbo cools down. Always do a short oil change interval. I prefer 5K miles but 7K miles will do on a synthetic oil. Don't go for the required Jaguar of 16K miles OCI.Turbo needs fresh oil all the time for longevity of use. Battery on this vehicle should be well maintained. If not used in 3 weeks, connect to a battery charger. These vehicles are very picky on undecharged batteries.

About the lease, it's all up to you, If 2025 has the same engine, go for it. Techincally it;s the same car, with few upgrades on the info system. I've been inside the new 2025 and it;s enticing. The feel to it is like I want to trade in my XF, but, I have to add that extra cash payment. I said nah, my car is fully paid and I don't have any problems with it

You've paid for a lot of the depreciation now. You like the car and know it's well looked after. So why spend more on a new one - buy (if price is good) and enjoy!

Hi, thank you for your reply! Thanks for your advice about the turbo oil changes and the battery. A new car is always enticing, but yeah, it has to make financial sense. Appreciate your input!

Thank you! Yes, that's my thinking. The buyout is $31k which I would have to lay out. I was thinking if I get a really good lease deal because they want to unload inventory it would be worth it. So far the lease quotes I have gotten are too high and don't make sense. I don't know what the dealers are thinking. Thank you so much for your response, its very helpful!

Think your leasing issue is that interest rates are still high and I don't think they are pushing to offload inventory. The cars are selling well and they are stocking inventory to last for a year or so more while they make the EV transition so they aren't looking to offload fast

I hear you on the cash outlay for the 30k although I'd have thought financing a 3 year old car should be a much lower monthly payment than financing a new one as you have to cover a lot more depreciation in years 1-3 than in 4-6

Good luck with what you decide!
