Default Lease Rates?

Any idea on what leases are going to look like on the F-Pace? I spec'd out an F-Pace S the way I wanted and I think the MSRP was $65,000. Just curious what a lease payment would be. Similarly priced F-Types are something like $699/month (with $5k DP?).

I think they're claiming best-in-class residuals, so that should help somewhat, but there are obviously other factors too--money factor, down payment, mileage allotment.

Using the XF in a similar price would be a little closer to the F Pace for a lease estimate. Try to match engine tunes, as the S models can have slightly different programs.

The F Pace snd XE are going to have very competitive. BMW is also a good comparison to use as that's Jaguar's target.

I know the online calculator isn't an exact payment, but I was genuinely surprised that the XE and F-Pace seem to have drastically different lease rates. I built both to within a few hundred dollars of one another and with the same terms the F-Pace was showing nearly $100 more per month

I looked at leasing mine, but the 50% depreciation rate after 3 years seemed very high to me. For my First Edition, a lease for 3 years, they said payments would be $1,260 per month. I decided to purchase instead.

Was that with 0 down? That seems really steep.

Yes, essentially 0 down aside from the $2,656 down for fees and the first payment/deposit. Total price was $71,570. They told me the residual value after a 3 year lease would be $35,348. It would be $1,260 per month for 36 months. With those terms/numbers it made much more sense to me to purchase. I'm in California - and our "tire tax" is 8.75%. Hope that helps. And I agree, it was steep.

I see; I thought they were claiming better residuals...maybe they only meant for the XE, if I was in your shoes I would have bought too. I already have a car on order, but if I don't like it once I drive it I'm going to look into a XE or F-Pace. Congrats on your order, though, from every review I've read it's a machine!

I was surprised too by the residual value. Maybe they don't know what it will truly be since this is the first model? I'll post some photos on Friday when I pick it up and let you know how it drives. I test drove the XJ before reserving the F-Pace just to get a general feel for it - but I'm sure I'm going to love it. I'm curious about the XE as well - and am surprised more people aren't jumping on that deal. Dealer says he sold out of the F-Pace but only has small number reserved for XE. Best wishes to you as well. Very exciting.

It very well may be the reason, though for Jaguar anticipating it to be their volume seller I would expect better residuals. Can't wait to see the photos; it's a great looking car for sure.

thats usually what happens with first time models. you can estimate all the scenarios in the world, but it all means nothing until you start seeing the sales trends.

$1200 a month is kind of steep for that kind of car. I was estimating lease payments to start off in the low 500's (base/lightly equipped) and reach the 700-800's
