Well, for those that remember, when I got my 08 XKR port vert, there was a leak from the coolant res nipple where the hose connects. (Same one in lower pic)
Fixed by removing the clamp, moving it up and adding a second clamp.
Tonight I was picking up my daughter (ironically
from driving school) and noticed the coolant temp creeped up to around 209F.
It is always between 195-199F, even in bumper to bumper during the 30m drive to the office.
I will say winter is over so the ambient is 80F if that matters.
Stopped for about 5m and turned off the engine while my daughter grabbed some stuff.
Opened the hood to take a peek while waiting and took saw the below so took some pics.
Those are the only two places that I could see. I’ll check levels and peek around more after she’s cooled.
I did run my fingers under (ouch) all the hoses in the area and there wasn’t any coolant on them.
So I start her back up. 217F !?
Drops to 214, 209 and hovers at 205.
Once out on the road, she got back down to 195 at 50mph and 201-204 when sitting.
She is home safe in the garage with the hood open for now.
