Default Supercharged Replaced Under Warranty

Hello guys,

I am so excited to have my car back from the dealer. I originally came in because I noticed that I was losing coolant at a slow progressive rate. My service advisor told me that they found a leak under the intake manifold and had to remove the blower to get to the bypass hose that was seeping coolant. The dealer has replaced all the bypass hoses with new ones and the leak is now gone.

They also noted that the supercharger was making a lot of noise chattering upon cold start so they decided to replace the whole supercharger assembly under warranty. The car feels like it is brand new and the response is just immense now.

I previously went in to service the torsion isolator which took care of the chatter for awhile. I think running these pullies over worked the blower causing it to chatter. Maybe I might just stick with the stock pulley from the new blower. I plan on keeping this car for a long time.

You are indeed fortunate that the dealer didn't void your warranty due to the aftermarket supercharger pulley and tune. I'm surprised they didn't spot it particularly because your XJ doesn't sound stock.

The same blower is used on the CTS-V. Those guys are using upper pulleys. Lower pulleys. And porting. I wouldn't wring your hands in panic. The TVS1900 is barely utilized by the jaguar and honestly the marginal boost increase isn't even scratching the surface.
The CTS guys are getting 800rwhp out of their engines and people here freaking out over minor mods and making 500rwhp here.

Stuart, Jaguar Dealer service is top notch. By far the best service I have ever experienced in a car.

Thanks for the insight Digital. Makes me feel better knowing the fact that I'm not even pushing the limits of the supercharger. Pulley will be installed maybe sometime next week. I had no idea this was the TVS1900 Blower. Wow

Johncy2000,

I agree that Jaguar dealer service is top notch. But by far the best service I ever experienced in a car was before I got married!

The ZL1 camaro uses it as well. The ZR1 corvette uses the TVS2300 which is the same design just larger.
Obviously boost is a measurement of restriction and pulley sizes on different cars with better mods for flow will determine power at a certain boost level but on the 1900 and 2300 they're running them at 16-18psi at what they consider acceptable intake temperature levels. Now if you're concern is over spinning the unit RPM wise that would have to do with the pulley system and to achieve that.

I attached a break down of the 09 CTV-V chart so you could get an idea of the cross reference. Some the higher power cars are using the 2.55 upper and 9.6 lower combination. That's quite the increase of RPM.

Crank _____SC Pulley___Ratio_______Boost
8.0------------2.95--------2.71--------8.6 psi (stock)
8.0------------2.55--------3.14--------13 psi (change only SC pulley)

8.6------------2.95--------2.92--------10.5 psi (change crank pulley)
8.6------------2.55--------3.37--------14 psi (change both pulleys)

9.1------------2.95--------3.09--------11.5 psi (change crank pulley)
9.1------------2.55--------3.57--------15.5 psi (change both pulleys)

9.6------------2.95--------3.25--------13 psi (change crank pulley)
9.6------------2.55--------3.77--------17 psi (change both pulleys)

10.0-----------2.95--------3.39--------14 psi (change crank pulley)
10.0-----------2.55--------3.92--------18 psi (change both pulleys)
