Default Warning Light: Power Steering Assistance Reduced - 2017 F-Pace

Woke up one morning, turned the car on (It's a little cold outside), and the Power Steering Assistance Reduced Warning light came on. I can't seem to find any documentation on it.

Anyone have an idea of what may be going on? I wonder if there's anything I can check or clean?

It is electric power steering, so with the colder weather, and you no doubt switching on seat and steering wheel heaters etc, the power management system has decided to restrict the power available to certain other power-consuming installations. Did the warning disappear when you moved off ?

I was able to call Roadside Assistance. They had it towed up to the dealership. We're looking into it now.

Default Power Steering Assistance Reduced (Alternator)

I had the same issue, the mechanic replaced the alternator and the problem went away for about 98%. He's suggesting that we change the battery too and then the problem will completely go away.

Hope this helps
