Does the 16r coupe have a puddle light in mirror or only in door handle. Can't find anything in manual?

 

My 16 Base Coupe has it in the bottom of the door,, just checked.

 

Does it have door handle light? I need to check manual more carefully. This has to be in there somewhere.

 

Yes, there is an LED on the underside of the door handle that comes on when the door handle pops out upon unlocking. Mine is a '14 base.

 

The same on my 15 R.

 

Same on my 16 R. There's a puddle light under the door as well (not under the mirror) visible when the door is open.

If you want to actually see a puddle in the dark, you're better off sticking with the OEM light in the bottom of the door.

 

+1. Those novelty lights suck. 1) the lenses were reversed, 2) one of them burnt up within two days (circuit board was fried, could have burnt down the car), and 3) they look cool but don't shed much light. Back to OEM!

 

Mine have been great actually. Perfect fit and no issues. I've recommended them to many in the XJ forum. Perhaps you can try my vendor. I bought a pair for the f-type too

They make another that projects a leaper too, run a search.

 

I got the leapers. They look great and no issues to date.

 

Unfortunately, they're the same folks I got mine from. Absolute garbage.

As I said, they work great, no issues.

 

I think the lights are identical. I looked at the ones I bought and the Sun Tech and I see no difference.

Funny that your lights ad do not show the illumination image. They only say "show Jaguar Image" That could mean a leaper, a logo or the word "JAGUAR". I've seen all three images available. You can even do full color custom if you send in the image. I was thinking the green/red "R" would be what I'd want if I went custom.

What did you end up with?

 

I got the cat full face version. Very quick delivery from China. They look well made and were a simple job to fit, and they work fine. No problems.

 

I received a replacement set about 2 weeks ago after a lot of back and forth messages. These are now projecting in focus and NOT in reverse.
