I remember reading a few posts that mentioned that for several years, the isolator could be either versions so when I had mine replaced, I went ahead and ordered both versions so the shop would not have the incorrect part while replacing the pipes. I later returned the other unused isolator for a refund minus shipping (well worth the cost to make sure I had the right one available).

After reading about the solid coupler make things worse, I really don't know if change it preventively or not when doing pipes... My car is silent, except a little clunk at shut-off, but from I've red this is expected as normal.

I started the job last week to change the coolant pipes and man i have to tell you there's a lot of stuff that needs to come apart and on the V8 version access to certain bolts especially in the back part of the motor are almost impossible to get to. I finally got the supercharger off and sure enough there is a lot of play in the shaft which can't be good. I plan to pull the snout off possibly later today so I can see how badly beat up the shaft is. I'm planning to install the solid isolator so hopefully that's not a mistake.

So a little update. I got the snout off the supercharger and the factory isolater doesn't look bad at all and after 43,000 miles had very little marring on the shaft it sits on. With that in mind, the solid isolator I picked up based on feedback from the forum folks doesn't fit. How sad. I got the Eaton SN2607 which isn't correct for anyone doing this job, it won't fit. So I'll probably just put the factory isolator back on especially since it looks ok to me and wasn't make any clanking noises.

The SN is just a serial number, the actual part number should be right below that.

I would still replace the OEM isolator with a brand new one while you're in there. It should buy you some more time before you have to take everything apart again.

good advise. Thanks. Now I need to hunt for that part or, try to get the correct solid isolator. Does anyone know the correct solid isolator part # and brand for the V8 (Type R)?

Also, I noticed in all the videos the supercharger oil plug sits on top of the supercharger in the back. I have the V8 and it's not there but I see one on the back side of the supercharger and I think that's it but before I pull it out, I wanted to see if the V8 folks can chime in and confirm that the plug is in the location and therefore different than the V6 car

What's the part number for the coupler that didn't fit your vehicle?

The correct Eaton part number for the solid coupler should be EAT-361506 as discussed above. However, I would personally go with the ZZP coupler that Waldo suggested earlier, because he reported it's a tighter fit and thus had no unwanted rattles.

If you want to go with the OEM style spring coupler, I think SCOL should be able to help you find the correct Eaton part. I'm not sure if Jaguar sells only the coupler, I've only seen them sell the entire snout as a repair kit.

Yes, the oil plug is on the back side. There's a helpful Supercharger Coupler Replacement and Oil Change Guide too.

I find it confusing with all the different part numbers and SCOL seems to have the most versions too.
Here is some more confusion! As I am still adding part numbers and trying to determine how all the variations are used.

Eaton Coupler
EAT-361506 as posted above. Used on V-6's and 2017 and up V-8's. Listed as a 49mm or 50mm size.

Stock Spring Loaded Coupler-Vacuum Bypass
EAT-360145. For the 5.0L up to 2015 w/Vacuum Bypass
On that page is a statement that the Solid version is EAT-308858. That is listed as for the M112 and M90 blowers and makes no mention of the later cars that use the TVS blowers?
Solid Coupler For M112 and M90

Eaton Spring Coupler for 2016 and up Models
EAT-360148. Listed for the 2016 and up 5.0L with the stock spring loaded coupler.

Eaton Solid Coupler-2016 and Up Models
EAT-361506-JLR is a solid version for 2016 and up V-8's but has JLR added to the part number.

One thing that's confusing me is there is overlap between these part numbers.
EAT-361506 and EAT-361506-JLR which are the same number without the JLR on the end of it are listed for the 5.0L V-8. Different years to?
One is 2014 and up. Another 2017 and up.

I've got an information from superchargersonline.com that V6 OEM spring isolator is EAT-360148.

So yes I think this is confusing. I bought the EAT-361506 which also has another number above it "S/N2607". On Superchargers on line they have that same Eaton part number but with a different S/N number. How weird. I can confirm that the S/N 2607 which again also has EAT-361506 does NOT fit the V8 Supercharger. I live not too far from SCOL so I'll probably go visit them next week to get the correct Isolator. I can bring the Snout with me to confirm.

As posted above ignore the SN stuff. That is a serial number and put on the part to help guard against counterfeit parts.
