Default 2017 f type s manual engine question

i just purchased an f type /s manual shift (2017) and have a question about its behavior in dynamic driving mode. I love this car, but maybe I am not driving it correctly as it is a manual.
when this car is in dynamic mode and I pushing the accelerator hard...from 1st to 2nd ...it quickly over revs...I shift to 3rd and it happens almost immediately after touching the accelerator. ...the only way I can stop this from happening is to wait about 3 seconds between shifts before touching the accelerator again.
Is this normal? Or am I the idiot that doesn't know how to drive the f-type correctly...however everybody who drives this car and tries to push it a little experiences the same thing!
Could the software need adjusting or updating or is it that I am not driving the car correctly
I apologize if this is a stupid question but I can't figure it out. The over revs are not a comfortable thing to experience and I do t want to hurt the engine.
thank you
john

That is an excellent question! I am going to take it to the dealer next week and get it checked out. It only has 1200 mikes on it so I hope the clutch is fine.

Dave is right. It sounds like your clutch is slipping. This was a known issue on the 2016 MTs and was resolved under warranty with updated parts. It is hard to believe that they didn't resolve the problem for 2017 production units.

Read the entire thread...it will bring you up to speed on the subject:https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...action-158861/

Not to fear, this will be resolved for you under warranty.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everybody for their knowledge with helping me diagnose the problem and ultimately solving it.
My clutch was slipping badly... I just thought that was how the car was and I resigned to live with it. IT got worse and worse and with only 1800 miles ... I found myself ultimately unhappy with a car that was uncomfortable to drive hard.
In my case, my car was a 2017 but manufactured in June of 2016. I brought the invoice that was posted from "unhinged" and left it at the dealer to fix. They test drove it, saw how awful it was and immediately got authorization to replace it under warranty with updated parts using the UNHINGED invoice as a guide.
I guess I am an ol timer or something but according to the dealer, ordering a MT F-Type is rare
Now I have a completely different car! thank you forum members and UNHINGED...you guys are all amazing!
I will buy drinks if anybody ever comes to Maine to visit!

Not out of the question. Lots of good eats up in Portland. Some good friends up that way too.

Hmm, your location is listed as Mass. Maine and Massachusetts used to be the same, but that was 200 years ago.

In any case, great that you got the clutch straightened out - should be a highly entertaining car.

Perhaps we should do a poll to see the average age of MT owners...

Dave, great idea. Set that up if you would please. Can't do it from my mobile phone.

More accurate might be how many MT owners have facial hair...

Slipping clutch, you will need a new part. However, I am surprised they are still putting faulty parts in. This was known problem last year.

Is it only the V6 S that has clutch slipping? Anyone with a V6 non-S with the problem?
