2018 F-Type R Convertible Top Stuck Down (Part II)
Under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty applicable to all 2018 Model Year Jaguar vehicles, the battery is warranted 100% for parts and labor for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. So my battery is fully covered.

It’s in the shop as we speak! Waiting for verdict. Just wanted to be sure that if it’s the battery, I’m covered.
2018 F-Type Convertible Top Stuck Down (Part III)
Ultimately it was not a battery issue. After charging the battery and managing to get the roof back up, it would not go down again. Taken to the local (Buffalo area) Jaguar dealer in early June and left it there for 2 weeks before they got it back to me after replacing the "motor" for the top (ultimately it was revealed that the "motor" they replaced was for the roof latch). The top worked up and down once or twice, then konked out again after being lowered. Just before arriving back at dealer to dump it off again I was finally able to get top to raise back up and latch down. Did an immediate about face. Got a mid-July appointment with another (Rochester area) dealer and they took almost four weeks to finally resolve the issue. In addition to the motor replaced by the Buffalo dealer, there are two other motors relating to the top, one on each side of the top. The code indicated the left-side motor was faulty, and it took almost 3 weeks for them to get the part from the UK. Well. I wasn't happy about the wait but I've had no further problems with lowering and raising the top since getting the car back several days ago. Have vowed not to use Buffalo dealer again, and reported entire episode to Jaguar corporate. AND NOW YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY!
