Default 2021 SVO Paint Palette - Orange vs. Orange!!

Hi everyone,

The current SVO renders are driving me crazy - the Sanguinello and Atamaca oranges appear different on different areas of the website. Has anyone found any photos of real delivered cars in these colors? I think I’ve found one in Atamaca. But the F-Pace SVR Sanguinello looks like the F-Type Atamaca...hellllp!!

Oh, and the Build section shows these tones for the F-Type render which match the F-Pace. The above post shows F-Type renders from the accessories section of the F-Type Explore link.

Sanguinello

Atacama

Hahaha, maybe I can leverage that for a discount on the SVO premium palette option. I was happy with my Sanguinello choice until I saw that very red render...now I don’t know what I’m getting. I asked SVO on Instagram to tell me how close the new color names are to the multiple previous orange names...they’re “getting back to me soon”

Checked out the website and honestly, the Tourmaline Brown was pretty incredible paint. It reminds me of the 2000-2002 XKR Anthracite Paint with blue, green and purple flakes in it. I think you have to see it in person. If you order it, you will probably be the only order all year....but man....what a car.......if the website is any hint at what you are getting.

The GM of my dealership is reaching out to corporate to try to get me some answers on which of those renders is closest to the actual color. If the Sanguinello is actually closer to red then I'll probably go with the Atacama. I'm guessing they slightly tweak the colors every year, but at least if they can tell me "it's pretty close to firesand/madagascar/vesuvius/phoenix....". JLR has a lot of oranges haha.

Wish somebody knew....from a marketing standpoint, I'm not sure that JLR will be willing to tell me "Sanguinello is basically last year's color called X, and Atacama is pretty much last year's color called X". But I've asked regardless and they said they'd get back to me but that was a week ago.

Haha, I don't know about that....the one rendering of Sanguinello from the main F-Type Explore page is closer to Red Delicious than Orange

Wouldn't it simple to have a set of chips at the dealer's maybe on a display out so you could see them. MB used to do that but no longer. I was interested in ordering a green MB and could not find either a car or a chip. I just don't trust screens to give me an accurate color rendition. Especially with JLR extremely expensive and multitudinous color options and set a chips is a must.

Agreed. My JLR dealer does have a display room with paint samples but they don't have anything for the latest SVO palette. I think I do trust that real photo in my original post now though to be Atacama. Just hope I can at least find a photo of the other one before I have to lock in my build configuration.

The Atacama Orange in your post #1 is Firesand in my book. The Atamana Orange in your post #2 looks decidedly different to me, non-metallic. Someplace in the JLR universe there has to be a set of chips for each color. How do you sell $9,000 paint jobs based on a guess. You need a motivated sales manager who will get on the phone, call in a favor and get you the chips of what you want.

True story. I’ve got a good relationship with the dealership GM so far and he told me he’d find some answers for me. New fancy dealer so they should be motivated to have happy customers and pull us away from the only other one.

Default Colour rendition

Colours will not appear the same on different devices because of variations in components, settings etc,.just as your TV has brightness and contrast settings which change how the picture looks. The international specification for colours is the Pantone Color Matching System.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panton...atching_System
Computer monitors and TVs only use red, blue and green to provide the basic colours, with black being represented by zero illumination of the pixels but dependent on the ambient light.

Hey there - to clarify, the confusion is due to the below photos. Same colour name, but they look very different on the same device. I think the belief is that the renderings on the right are a better representation of the real thing. I think the Atacama will be closer to the Project 8 or maybe the F-Type SVR orange.

The ones on the left seem more likely to me (on my iPad), and I actually prefer them. Ones on the right look like the color saturation is cranked up.

Although the right kinda matches this Atacama video though that my dealer shared with me? Maybe? I don’t know...maybe I’ll flip a coin haha
