Followed OlyFtype instructions and had the front license plate brackets off in 15 minutes. So simple. I had requested the dealer to remove them prior to delivery but they insisted the front bumper would have to be removed and it would require three hours of labor at minimum!

After you grind the slots, use a small flat-head screwdriver to back the bolt out as far as it can (there is an obstruction that eventually stops the bolt.

Then, carefully put your fingers into the grill openings and twist the wing-shaped piece of plastic 90 degrees to allow the bracket to be pulled out of the grill.

Now... the F-type insignia can be seen and the front of the Cat is w/o blemish!

good evening, I’m trying to do the same thing with the car I just bought. What dremel tool did you use to grind into the bolt?

It's called a cutting or cut-off wheel.

I am not very mechanically inclined, but I used these instructions and got the front license plate holder off in under five minutes. Like others mentioned, I used a dremel tool with a cutting wheel to make the notch in the bolt and was easily able to fit my fingers behind it once loosened to turn the backing plate to get it off. Thank you so much for this thread. It saved me a thousand bucks in shop time.
