Default 5000 miles brake in for AWD

after one year looking at the F Type R, and reading this form, I bought one two weeks ago. first new car in 16 years, sold the BMW 2001 M-5 for this one. needed to read the owners book to learn what all the buttons are for and how to use all the "stuff"

read about the 1200 miles, than up to 2000 miles to be done with the brake in time, not bad, I can get that done and than play hard with it and start going to track days with it. I have been doing track days for the last 20 years with the BMW and my ZR-1.

last night I am reading in the book and read about the "Active Differential Control", the AWD, it is on page 92. Do not exceed 155 MPH, do not participate in track days, driving schools or similar events for 5000 miles.
this will be about a year for me to get to the 5000 miles!

anyone else with AWD read that one?

Go on a one week road trip. I just did that earlier this month and put on more than 5000 miles. Why wait a year?

You are right with the one week road trip, if I could, just can't take that type of time. I think I am going to do many weekend trips, might be able to rack up some 300 to 500 mile ones and by the end of September or some time in October. Would want to make one of the last days to run at Road America in WI and that will be in October. In the two weeks I have had it, it now has 705 miles on it, one weekend trip all the rest just to work and back, only 16 miles a day!

I just did not know if anyone else had read about the 5000 mile deal and if they lived up to it.

I'm glad I read this as I was going to attend a track day in a month but will wait. I'm going to take a road trip for a vacation, as I work from home and only put 8900 miles on my XKR in 3 years.
