I have 2017 Cab and would like to access behind the panel between seats to insert Android box. BUT the instructions i've seen simply pull+lift the panel out, but this does not seem possible in my cab version - the panels are attached differently.
Must be in the UK. In the US, that would be a 2018 and up with the Harmon unit. I don't have an answer as to how to pop that panel. I have the US 2017 model which is different.
Digit 10 of the VIN should give you a definitive answer to the MY - H is MY17, J for MY18 and K is MY19. Jaguar's MY begins around the March of the previous calendar year, my MY18 was built on 25th March 2017.
Not sure about the convertible, but for the coupe it's a matter of pulling the top edge out then lifting off pins on the bottom. I'd be a little surprised if it's different. The top edge retaining clips take some force to snap out. I used my fingertips but you might have better luck with trim removal tools.
I Recently did the same thing for the same reason.
For the Convertible you have to take off the roll over bars.
Pull the seats all the way forward, Pop the Subwoofer covers off, Take the wind deflector out, Use a long socket to undo the two bolts holding the roll over bars in and pull them out.
Once that is done, it's just a case pulling the trim around the top off the poppers that hold it in, there are no screws (or there were none for my UK model 2015 AWD R) If you get really stuck and are in the south of England I'm happy to help.
Hi
Thanks for all the responses. I managed it (encouraged by a facebook UK thread) and aligns with @slicernet above.
- Seats all the way forward.
- Remove speaker covers (one of the clips refused to come out but i managed to work around this)
- Big bolts hold the roll bars + lots of trim behind seats, then kinda lifts off
Unfortunately the Android kit sent connectors were not correct (despite close interaction with seller who persisted it was correct). So reassembled without change.
A good learning experience for what is possible, so nothing lost in the ownership experience.
