I am looking at a black ext/black interior fully loaded 2014 F-Type V8S with 30000 miles, remaining warranty, price around $45K. The car looks great in/out and the price attractive. However, the carfax shows "accident reported car towed" with first owner, the seller who is the 2nd owner bought the car from dealership. He said the dealership that sold the car said it was a fender bender and front bumper had been replaced or repaired. The seller also had car inspected by Jaguar before he purchased, at least that's what he claims.

Let me know what you all think and what should I look out for in this situation.

Take it to a dealership and have it inspected for yourself. That's the only way to have a sure answer.

 

i would have the frame inspected. could've been improperly towed.

 

Thanks guys, roughly how much do the dealers charge for inspection? And does that also include frame inspection ?

 

Any chance the car was certified (extended warranty) by Jaguar after the accident? My XF had a fender bender and Jag said they would certify it when I went to sell. Repaired by Jag authorized shop owned at time by Jag dealer.

 

Note that the 2014s came with a 4 year/50K warranty, so it may expire as early as May. (F-types started shipping to the US in May '13.)
