Default Antigravity H8 battery

Hello all,

it's time for me to upgrade to a new battery. I still have the original and it is showing it's age.
My question is for those who did this upgrade to a Antigravity lithium battery: I read somewhere that after you swap, you had to go the dealer and get the system "balanced" or something similar. Is that in fact true, or can you simply swap the batteries and go.
Thanks in advance.

It is not true. The purpose of the battery syncing is to ensure that the battery control module is able to properly manage the ECO start feature. The Lithium battery is such a different animal that the ECO start feature will not work, whether the dealer tries to sync the car with the battery or not. If you must have the ECO start, a lithium battery is not for you. I drove for a full year without having the dealer do anything about the battery sync. Battery worked great but ECO stop would not occur. Out of curiosity, I had the dealer do their thing and it had no impact.

BTW, despite rumors to the contrary, lithium batteries work just fine well below freezing. Mine has proven itself reliable down to 18 degF. I'll let you know at what temp it craps out.
