Default Anyone else have an F-Type without ECO mode?

Hi All

Just picked up my V6S last week and was surprised to find that there's no ECO (Stop/Start) system fitted. Can't say I was too disappointed as I'm not a fan (and petrol's cheap here), but from what I'd read on line I believed it was standard across the range?

I'm in the Dubai, UAE, and our standard specs are different to the UK/US, but I had expected the ECO system to make it across.

Count your blessings - worst feature on the car - ESPECIALLY in warm weather locales where the AC is on 12 months out of the year - longest its cut out on me while the AC is on is ~ 8 seconds

I'd pay extra for that feature. Hate Eco Mode.

Mine - in two weeks to be registered and plated - does not have it either and from what I am reading and from all online reviews I must be happy for not having it! Glad you too do not have it!

I believe it's limited to locales with emission standards (eg, US, Europe, etc.)

Yes it is so. For EU countries registration Euro6 engine and ECO option it is obligatory. It is however something that especially with the R has no meaning. Having a V8 engine start-stop so oftenly is worse than having it on continuously, for the noise it makes, the vibration, the stress to the engine and holdings etc. Logically no sense.

I agree with those who do not like this ECO feature.

There's enough oil where you are to go around...

No need for ECO mode!

Totally agree! I do not have it in my SUV (Range Rover Sport HSE) that is the family and long distance commuter and I felt just fine without it, had very reasonable fuel consumption average. Flawless drive compared to what I have experienced with the Porsche Boxster that was with auto/stop. In that short time that I used the Boxster was a real nonsense feature. Happy to not be obliged to purchase a vehicle with this feature.

It would be a crime if it did! At least in the dynamic mode or paddle shifting mode shuts down as feature.

Thanks for the vid! So according to this guy: no extra wear & tear on the starter, battery or fuel economy on restarts. ~Except~ for when it is cold. I've been trying to get used to having it on, but I do turn it off on start up (and usually remember to put it back on at some point.) So if it is so advanced that it starts back up if you turn up the stereo or a/c, why doesn't it know not to stop when cold?? And I would love to see some data that it actually saves gas in the real world.

I have never experienced mine shutting down before reaching operating temps. Maybe it does know better.

I have a stop sign 10 ft from my house. It still cuts off even when I just started it cold.
