Default Anyone gone from Convertible to Coupe???

have a 17 S AWD Convertible and moving to R this spring....

Not totally committed to it yet but I'm thinking about making the move to a coupe instead of a ragtop.

I like the body lines better and the car looks sleeker....

Does the pana glass open on the R coupe?? Is the headroom sufficient for 6' tall big guy?

Can you hear the awesome exhaust as well as the convertible??

And lastly I started another thread about the trunk space - looks to be much larger than convertible....

Anybody make the move? Anyone regret it??

Pano roof is fixed (closed). I, at 6'2" fit fine (with Stoker hat). No, not as loud. Yes, almost twice as large if you remove the privacy panel.

I'm 6'3 and I fit in my coupe just fine. Even with a helmet on for the days when I track it.

I'm 6'4 and don't have a lot of room above my head. I can place my hand on top of my head without it hitting the roof but its very close. I doubt that I could wear a helmet in the car.

I'm a shade over 6' and large structure. Trick with the ftype is learning how to get in and out of the car. There was quite a discussion on it. In the end it's more than feasible/comfortable for me. Trunk is plenty large for a couple soft luggage bags and other stuff. Significantly larger than vert.and much less claustrophobic then the vert with the top up.

I always find these threads interesting 'cause I like to see what drives people decisions. The way I see it is that you can't go wrong either way and the choice depends solely on personal perference and usage.

I think the F type is one of the nicest looking cars ever built and I do think the coupe is the prettiest of the two.
The coupe has double the luggage space which can't be a bad thing but I've adapted to the space the 'vert has to offer and haven't had any regrets.....though we were used to packing for a trip on our touring motorcycle so the F type still has more room than that. ....plus the smaller space limits my wife's shopping opportunities (and she NEEDS limiting! LOL)

My Jag is only a fair weather car for me used only 6 months of the year and we maintain 5 other licenced motor vehicles so practicality isn't a real concern. I love the increased driving experience with the 'vert with more noise, unobstructed views and the wind in your hair......the weather here in the "sunny Okanagan" is perfect for a topless car in the summer but if I lived elsewhere, and the weather was different, maybe the car was a daily or used more frequently, then I'd be very happy to get a coupe.

They were only available as a convertible when. I bought mine in early 2014, and I had actually always wanted a convertible so it was perfect - the F Type is the first open top car I have owned

I had the roof down at every opportunity when I first got the car - 3 years later the novelty has worn off and I seldom take the top down now. I have definitely realized I am a coupe guy and wouldn't own a convertible again.

To round it off I think the coupe is by far the prettier car - so that's what I would go with now.

my thoughts exactly - I have had many convertibles but the coupe looks better and I'm over having the top down. Its great on a cool fall day but usually the top stays up and I wouldn't mind being able to put my clubs in the trunk without having to do all kinds of things.

Its 2018 coupe or Maserati GrandTurismo Sport .....

I would not get the Maser if I were you. You were concerned about your buddies beating you in 911 and Vettes. The Maser would get killed. My friend has a Maser GT MC Shift. It's a big boat of a car. Looks beautiful, sounds incredible - but is slow and not nimble at all.
