Default Anyone interested in Cadillac race school?

So after wringing out about as much as I can out of the Jag I'm thinking about switching to the new CTS-V since it's putting out some serious power. (Jag, wake up! We want power!!)

I went to Jag academy last year in Miami and had a blast but just found this:
Cadillac V-Series Academy

Anyone interested in a November meetup in Vegas? Sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to try out the competition.

Spring Mountain has several tracks, and all are amazing! They are all relatively new and in excellent condition. They made their name with their Radical and Corvette schools, and now Cadillac since they've gone racing again. it is an amazing and luxurious race track/country club. Their instructors often include numerous famous names.

I did a 4-day Z06 school there a few years back and had an absolute blast. It's about 60 miles west of Las Vegas in Pahrump, NV.

Wish Jag was at Spring Mountain instead of LV Speedway!

I'm still having some cognitive dissonance with the idea of a Cadillac Race School...

As to your original request, try a lower gear. The increase in torque multiplication should ensure that you bonfire your tyres as quickly as you could wish.

You have to keep up with changing times.

V-Series | Racing | Cadillac

I agree. I fell asleep looking at the remaining offerings from Jag academy. The AMG academy at COTA and Cadillac at Spring Mountain seem awesome.

I love the Jag but the performance is slipping compared to the competition. I would love to see the same power levels in the RS as Mercedes E63 and BMW M5. For some reason since 2013 Jag has ignored the power demand from customers. Yes I know for the uninitiated 550HP seems like "too much" but not for me.

The extra horses do not make up for the huge Design Penalty.
But the Academy might be a blast!

Been to Spring Mountain several times, and it's a nice facility, but if you can't rent one of the condos and have to stay at one of the hotels in Pahrump, they are worse than terrible. As for more power, first of all, you can certainly ring out 615 hp from the Jag V8 with the tune/pulley upgrade, and secondly it won't do you much good on tracks like Spring Mountain where as I recall there are 18 or 19 pretty sharp turns that don't allow you to build as much speed as you already have access to.

That is very true. When I was there, during the open track sessions, the pros were lapping students driving Z06s in base model Corvettes with 100 less HP. It's definitely a car handling and driving skill track, which makes it great for really learning how to drive properly. There's a lot more to it than pressing down a throttle pedal.

Foosh,
I made the mistake once, of taking my ancient Pantera to Spring Mountain, and without power steering (and even though it's a mid-engined car so there's very little weight on the front end), I felt like I'd been beaten up at the end of the first day. (Took my partner's Audi S5 out for the second day)

I know exactly what you mean with regard to how hard it was to drive fast in the old school classic performance cars. I took my 427SC to the track exactly once and am lucky to have survived that.

Surely one steers these classic performance cars with the throttle when on track???

Of course, you just take your hands off the steering wheel, put a blindfold on, and let the gas pedal do the work!

I'm looking for a couple of interior parts. I have a 2002 jag Xjr 100 with black interior. Mainly looking for the cover with the the letters for transmission shifter and the black cover for the drivers seatbelt retractor. Let me know something please. Thanx Carlos

Holy revived dead thread! I think you're a victim of suggested discussions at the bottom of threads. You ended up in a six year old discussion in the F-Type forum.
