Car loves nitrous and I am pretty confident that I can hit the tires a little harder and quicker this thing will go at least a 10.4x
Another fun fact, the car did 0-60 in 2.97 seconds too
I'm located in Morris County. Too bad you didn't video the drag runs as I'm sure the guts here including myself would love to see your car in action going down the strip.
Yeah, I always forget to bring the GoPro. This time, I did have someone in the stands...but she only got the first 330' or so, ha. But you can see me leaving hard on the caddy next to me
Goddamn Philly! Could you PM me pics of your nitrous and meth setup...? I've got the SVR now you know.....
YES!! I did see that - get them break in miles in, I am DYING to hear your R vs. SVR review. I too, have been tempted by the SVR - but have really been on the fence...probably same things that ran through your head before buying - basically is the overall performance that much better than what I (or you) currently have in the V8S or R.

I'll PM you a few pics too
The SVR honestly feels like a different car in terms of the improved handling. It just feels about 500 lbs lighter even though it's only 120lbs or so. A much sharper overall car that feels like it should be "on the track".
In a straight line...it's got the same motor with a stronger tune and slightly quicker shifts due to the TCU recalibration, so I don't honestly think that it could be any quicker than the R other than the weight savings.
cbroth - sounds like a pretty awesome ride Yeah, I was looking at weight compared to my '14 V8S vert. Looks like if I opted for the carbon roof and Ceramic brakes, I'd be almost 300lbs lighter than my '14.
Jag - ugh...NO! It was killing me. I really thought with the lighter wheels it'd be just enough to get me into the 10s on boost. But the car ran almost identical as it did before...within hundredths of a second. Not sure I want to keep trying for a 10 on boost. It's just too much fun on spray, maybe it'll see a 9.99 yet with a bigger shot of course
Philly, this is a bit of a twist from the thread....but....for those of us who are "drag strip" neophytes , what should we do when we give it a try. Stuff like tire pressures, revs, what gear..1st, 2nd ?...burn out ? ...when release the brake....stuff like that.
Thanks,
Alan
Jag - haha....thanks man. I can make anything look baller on IG I love the Soarer's / SC300's. I use to have an old SC300 5spd that was MINT. Should've never sold it...it was slow was *****, but it was great. 1JZ is a solid motor, you can get into alot of fun with that too
Mr. Awd - No problem at all. Normally, I'd say don't even bother drag racing on street tires...but...if you have an awd R - eh, give it a shot. Not even sure you can do a burnout in the awd car, can you??
let's see, I use mickey thompson drag radials @ 24psi cold with a fairly substantial burnout and they dead hook at the track.
I leave just off idle. As in, just a tiny bit of pre-load on the drive train and totally off the brake and WOT. If you're on stock ECU, you need to do that for sure - there are no gains trying to brake torque the car - it will fight you at the launch.
Leave in 1st gear / Dynamic / Sport and let the car shift. I've tried shifting it myself and the car can do it better.
