Default Best high performance street rotors?

Hi,

I did search the forum and did not see a lot on this (any really...I tried to find it before posting so please don't shoot me).

Street driven car...no plans for track use at all. GT use in the classic sense of GT only.

Please suggest rotors for such ... if a vendor is out there with affordable alloy hats please let post as these things are boat anchors.

Thanks in advance. Right now I am leaning toward simple high quality ones like those by Brembo..reason for change is going to porterfield R4-S pads and after 50k miles on these OEM units (which seem to be doing pretty well actually) figured it might be best to just get new rotors too...and just have them and the pads ready for spring....lots of sales right now.

Jeff

When I replaced a set of rotors on my 5.0L XKR, I used R1 Concepts' drilled and slotted Geomet series. Not only are they beautiful to look at, they have performed exceptionally well for the last several years, and they are very reasonably priced. And they don't seem to rust at the hub after you wash the car. Highly recommended!

Super thank you.

I realized after posting that many may not be up in the mileage to need this yet....very much appreciated, thank you again.

I ordered the R1 Concepts Geomet as well. Haven't installed yet, but read plenty of satisfied reviews to take the chance during the 30% off Black Friday sale.

I doubt I'm close to replacing the rotors but folks have had more problems going with non-OEM replacement than just using OEM's. That being said, I use Centric rotors on my race car and would definitely recommend the brand.

I put R4-S pads on the Type at 55k miles. No worries at all.
Since then we’ve put them on a DB9 and an S63 AMG with well worn rotors without any complaints.
