Default Best place to post car for selling

Well, I'm moving on from my '14 V8 S. It was fun, but I just couldn't justify keeping the car - it was never practical for a daily driver for me, so it's ended up being a garage queen.

Can anyone recommend any sites to post it for sale?

I would recommend cars.com hands down. I have sold several cars through them and it has been my main resource when looking for cars. Take good photos and list all of your vehicle's options. It will help when people are filtering the results.

I doubt there are aggregator sites, that help a user list or search all the sites at once, so I generally assume most sellers list on multiple sites. That being said, would you agree that cars.com is also the best place to *search* for cars? I assume so, but I've hated that multiple tab shuffle of many searches.

Cars.com and autotrader are still the best, IMO.

cars.com, cargurus.com, autotrader.com and ofcourse craigslist. All but autotrader dont charge a fee for the first month. But regardless of where you post it, get ready for a lot of spam emails! I just sold my car and it was through craigslist. And as someone whos currently looking for a car, yes, pictures help and options list... Too bad I am looking for a coupe..

Good luck with the sale!

Ditto. I've sold multiple cars cross-country (and one internationally) through Cars.com. When researching/shopping, I check both.

That is great! There really is a Billy Bob's Used Cars! By the looks of his inventory, he could use an F Type!

Ebay was the best place I found to sell my CTS-V. Apparently not so popular with others, but I had a great experience selling a couple cars and SUVs on there. They offer buyers $50k in insurance which is nice.

craigslist and cargurus are good. Mainstream sites like Cars.com, ebay and autotrader.com have good national exposure, but strangely I have only sold cars through craigslist and cargurus (the rest are traded in). You can always expect lowballers and scams from all sources though. With sites like craigslist tempest, it's now possible to search nationally and so exposure is greater than before

Carmax is pretty easy but you can always be sure their offer is pretty rock bottom.
Other than that many luxury/exotic dealers have consignment services (3-5% commission) that sells slightly better than trade in

It also depends if your state have tax benefits when trading in...if yes that's worth looking into

Following up on Billy Bob, go see Cal! "Cal and his dog Spot." Various iterations of "Spot" start a little before the one minute mark.
Haven't sold anything but I found cargurus helpful when looking. You can fine tune the options better and it also lists how long the car has been on the site.

This guy worked ALL OVER CA, and worked with Cal. Prior to that, worked in San Bruno for Ralph Williams. Commercial outtakes, or live joking:

The other thing you should consider is selling on consignment.

I did that when I sold my M3 and was able to get a bit more for the car.

Bring a trailer is good site. They are somewhat choosey about what they will list as they like a good story or a not so common car. Your f-type with low miles and in great shape would likely qualify.

I bought both my 911 Targa and Mitsubishi 3000 VR4 on eBay, so it's a viable option. One funny story on a car I sold long distance - the buyer found it on Cars.com, but asked me to list is on eBay as we were ready to close the deal. He wanted the insurance protection and was willing to pay the fees, so that's what we did.
