Default Black bits on the rear-redux

Since my thread on the above subject, I have been experimenting. I have determined that if I drive the car in normal mode, no Dynamic or Sport, until it has warmed up the amount of black bits is minimal.
Someone already showed that it is exhaust related and it seems that the bypassed exhaust spits out that stuff when the engine is cold. Now I have less cleanup...whew, what a relief!

Hmmm, that begs the question of why you'd be aggressively driving in Dynamic and Sport mode before the engine fully warms up? I suppose it doesn't matter much if it's a lease you don't intend to keep long-term.

I'm wondering where all the black stuff goes when the baffles are closed. Is it collecting in the muffler?

You do not have to drive aggressively in Sport and Dynamic before it is warm, but it does sound better.
