Default Black wheels

Why do people get these? it looks like someone stole your car's hub caps.

Interesting description but it is your opinion. When I see a car without hubcaps I always think of black wheels especially HRE or BBS

I find the F type absolutely compliments the black wheels- from its dark pano roof to the optional Black Pack- the car's theme is complimented by the wheels. I get it, black wheels are not for everyone and some say "played out" but if its played out why are they oem equipment on more models than ever and are still being put on cars?

Here are just a few cars of mine that have had black wheels and two are oem. I usually go for a theme or look and not just to ghetto out my car.

I enjoyed/enjoy some of my cars with black wheels errrrr I mean lost hubcaps (all of these mine)

Black rims tend to give a car a more stealthy, menacing look just like a chrome rim gives a car a classier, look at me profile. It's all about personal preference.

Wheels are so personal that it would be pointless to continue this conversation...wheels and stance make or break a car. Period.

That said...carry on Vic!

just personal preference. some people like vanilla, some people like chocolate. I do agree that wheels can make/break a car (for me). I love the titanium wheels on my old 991. it made the car look soooooo much better imo. It really was the selling point. I would not have gotten the exact same 991 if the wheels were plain silver. personally I like dark wheels but not straight black. but again, it's just personal preference. blondes, brunettes, black heads, red heads. BTW, some black wheels cost more than a new civic :-)

My personal choice when it comes to wheel finishes is a dark grey or titanium look so they stand out a bit, I will agree that black wheels do get lost somewhat in the tire but that can be rectified a number of ways, exposed hardware (ie: bolts) or a simple stripe of a contrasting color around the perimeter of the wheel to break it up....but in the end, it's all personal favorites.
