Bye-bye V6 and V8

I had a service loaner with the new Ingenium 4-cyl engine, and I didn't like it at all. Noticeable turbo lag, requires high-rev to deliver power, and when paired with XE's transmission would needlessly shift with notable shift lag and surging.
If AJ engines go away, JLR won't have anything else comparable in IC category. Ingenium isn't it, even if they managed to tune it up to 350hp or so with a bigger turbo and better manifold layouts.
So the only hope is that they get a deal with BMW to put bi-turbo V8 into upper trims of Jags. While hoi polloi stuck with Ingenium.
