Default CCB Parts Clarifications

Searched but did not find answers to these 2 specific questions. Thanks for any further info. 1. When I look up replacement CC replacement rotors I see them listed as Carbon Disc Set - L-AWD / R - AWD. Can we clarify that is for a set of 2? I have seen them for as low as $3,600.00. Still a LOT of money but $1800.00 per is not as bad as the perception people have. 2. The CC calipers are basically off the shelf Brembo units. Has anyone looked at the PAGID RSC Series of brake pads? Specifically the series 1 that seems to be a good overall street track day pad. Certainly they make a pad to cross reference with the Jag OEM pads. PAGID makes a really great product from what I understand. $500.00 a set is much more appealing than $1,600.00. Bigger question would be would the wear sensor be impacted by using an off the shelf pad potentially? Any specific tabs or parts of the pad backing plate for it? Would anyone have an old pad?

Additionally for a CC to Steel conversion you can put an iron rotor on the CC hat with a new hardware kit. Any as with above cross reference a matching pad. You loose the weight savings of the CC system but I see not reason we could not swap. Is the suspension “tuned” for the weight variance? Hats are car specific but these discs are basically all standard patterning.

More then 2 questions but would love to hear some thoughts on this. It bothers me that people may shy away from CCB’s because of the cost fear. Specifically for me I would like to track day my car potentially and that (from what I understand) will diminish the live of a CC disc much quicker. And that’s ok but not something to fear as much people think.

Thanks all. In conclusion I got them because they are beautiful and no dust for the record.

There are one or to people on the forum that have converted to the CCB setup, but to my knowledge no one has gone the other direction.

pagid pads are great pads used them on my VW Passat wagon. But the break dust is unreal. Makes the Jag OEM pads dust look like nothing.

I wonder if that would not be the case since the pads are designed and specified for carbon rotors?I would think they would have the same characteristics of the OEM pads?

I would be interested in pads for CCB too. Where did you get a quote for 1600? Did you ask the dealer parts department?

I’m sorry... It was $1,300.00 at the dealer and any online Jaguar parts site. I would think that the pads would still have the limited dust etc. It would be ideal to get an old pad to make sure they have a match and it works with any sensors?

The CCB brake pad part numbers are front T2R11420 and rear T2R11424 in case that helps others find them.
On the Parts.JaguarReno site they are listed as front $1443.75 (down from $1650) and rear $1334.38 (down from $1525) so not much change out of $2,800 US for the full set.
They must be very special brake pads to command those prices, are they gold plated?????

yeh those pad prices are insanely marked up

i've only ever replaced ccb pads on one car, and they weren't that much more than regular brake pads for same car

it's the rotor/disc where the big money is

get in contact with these guys to source ccb oe replacement parts

The PAGID RS1’s are $495.00 for the front on the Porsche 911. I would think that is the standard price for them. I like $1,000.00 more than $2,800.00 for sure. I thought I read here that it is a good idea to replace them before they are half way worn. I would have to go back and find that but I recall that as well.

There is no need to replace your pads until the wear indicator light comes on, at which point you should do it asap. I don't know where people come up with nonsense like "you should replace them before half way worn..."
I know you have read that and are just relaying the message, but keep in mind, people say nonsense all the time with out thinking, data, engineering knowledge, or any logical explanation...
Probably someone at some point was told by the dealer to do this so that they could be presented with an obscene invoice.

Yes exactly. It’s unfortunate the information you can dig up. So thanks for the reply and letting me know for sure. You just never know.

I have a F-Type SVR CC option, I usually go to the track, and I already changed the front CC Brakes twice. They are so expensive, so I am also looking for changing the Rotors to an Iron version. But I haven’t find a good option, if you find something, please let me know!

Check out the Wortec Rotors and some take-off OEM Super Performace calipers. Same weight as the CC rotors and run cooler than the Super Performance rotors. Do a forum search.
