Check Engine Light, code P050B
Check engine light at 977 miles. 2016 Base.
Code reader says: P050B Cold Start Ignition Timing Performance
I read that the timing retards on cold start to get the cats to light off quickly, and that system isn't working properly. Yes, set up a visit to the local Jag dealer, but no loaner available for 2 weeks.
Any thoughts?

Got any mice in the garage? Check for chewed wires.
Given the cold start function, it could be a number of different hardware issues: ECM, thermostat, crank sensor, etc. It may take some time to diagnose.

Well, I'll just wait for the loaner. It sounds like I can safely drive the car.
As for mice, I don't think so. Tight garage, and I actually put out some sticky traps after reading about the mouse damage.

I would ask the retailer if they will sublet a loaner car from a 3rd party aka enterprise, hertz, etc. Thats BS that they are making you "wait" to bring your car in for work. JLR reimburses the dealers for putting customers in branded LR/Jag rentals.
