Default Crank Pulley

I'm going to pull the trigger on a crank pulley for my V6S. Both stainless steel and aluminum are available. Looking for wisdom from the forum, which should I go with?

Steel of course. Belt on steel has higher friction than aluminum.

I have the aluminium version (Eurotoys not VAP but virtually identical) on my V6S, been running it for 10 months now with zero problems.
There were some thoughts that the lighter aluminium version may not be as well damped as the OEM or steel version and as a result it could cause a bit of vibration, but so far mine has been perfectly smooth and if anything slightly smoother than the OEM pulley.
One of the claimed advantages of the alu pulley is that it spins up faster (= better performance) due to being lighter but I have no idea if this is true or not, all I can say is that with the associated VAP tune my V6S is substantially quicker than stock and it now pulls hard right through to 7,000 RPM whereas before the pulley and tune it used to fade a bit by 6,000 rpm.

+1 to all of this, but my power starts to drop off at 6800 rpm because I also have the upper pulley.

I went with the steel based on the thought (untested as far I as know) that the steel would be less susceptible to vibration as mentioned. This theory is based on the fact that the OEM has a harmonic damper built in and is alum.

Would like know if anyone has tested this or has any info supporting this or to the contrary.

Aluminum VAP pulley here. No noticeable change in vibration. Just more power ...

You wouldn't notice any change in vibration. If you did, it would already be too late and your motor would be in bad shape.
