Default Custom plate installed

Well after 3 months of waiting, my custom plate finally arrived and I wanted to share a fews i phone pics. It's a grey day in So-Cal but you get the idea. You can see she is also debadged except for the leaper. I like how clean the rear end is now and with the quad pipes making all kinds of noise I don't feel the need to advertise it's an R. Funny thing is I get someone asking me at least once a week " what kind of car is that" ? After 5 months of ownership I am loving the car and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. One thing I never planned on is how many people want to race me almost daily. Considering I live in an area where you see true exotic super cars daily that is definitely something that continues to surprise me. I try to resist the urge to race them but there have been a few times when I caved and stepped on it anyway. The other day I stomped it when a guy in a new AMG coupe tried to smoke me. I was impressed by how well the R pulled away from him. However what did scare me was when I looked down at the center gauges and it said 141. I only stepped on it for what felt like a few seconds....I had no idea I was going that fast. This car is so stable and it just wants you to drive it hard. I'm sure others can relate so for now I have not lost my license yet.

I dig the debadging. I was on the fence about debadging mine, but now I know I have to.

550hp car will be quick, that's to be expected.
However, I really enjoy being able to beat most, and I do mean MOST cars off the line, due to superior traction of Jag's AWD system and the ability to brake-torque the automatic

Yes, TAG did the following:

brakes, debadge rear, all red badges to black, paint side grille to match body, disable rear spoiler

Its pretty widely believed that the break torque method actually slows acceleration on these cars. Try launching from idle and you might pick up a few tenths!

Nice actual DMV plate itself. Basic and clean. In Oregon you gets trees, a Salmon, a lake -- ugh - makes the plate even more ugly.

Yeah, we got lucky in Cali that the DMV recently brought back the simple black and yellow 1960's California Legacy Plates. It really is one of the best looking plates I have seen in the states. However, I really prefer the long and skinny Euro plates. I wish we could get those in the US. Our cars where designed for a wide plate and the back end of the F type just begs for it. Now the plate on Bond's DB10 is a beauty.

141 felt like 75 in a normal car. The R could have easily gone faster : )
The only complaint I have about this car is above 100 mph there is way too
much play in the steering wheel and yes I always keep everything in Dynamic.

my only problem visually with the 2016 F Types is that they went from blacktobody-colored rear "diffuser"/side sills. Makes cars other than black (like mine) look wider and longer (dare I say fatter?).
I initially wanted a white F Type R. My idea was to pant the diffuser, side sills, hood vents and the mirrors black.
Give it a thought-would look great on a silver!

I agree with you, that's why my next Jag will be the SVR with carbon fiber pack so most of the parts are black.

That might have something to do with the disabled spoiler (or bad wheel alignment). I have driven my rwd R at 120-170 over longer runs (100 miles ++ at German autobahn), and have not noticed to much play in the steering wheel. It feels very planted and reacts to the slightest input - both in normal and dynamic mode.

+1. I going to suggest dialing in a bit more front camber, but the lack of spoiler will make it "float" a bit more (maybe a lot at even higher speed).

+2.
The loose steering is either the front alignment, or the inactive spoiler at higher speeds.
The steering on these cars is among the tightest I've ever experienced... at all speeds. The slightest adjustment by the driver is instantly and precisely translated to the road.

To S4OC, I've had my RWD R cruising on I-10 between Beaumont and Palm Springs at a constant 140 - 150 mph for about 20 miles straight. The F-type felt just as solid and secure at 140 as it does at 40. Might want to have TAG inspect your alignment.

Alignment is perfect, when TAG reworked my brakes I had them check the alignment and all good. I really don't think it is the rear spoiler, Jaguar says you can order an SVR with no spoiler and take the car up to 186 mph. If the spoiler makes that much of a difference then I don't see Jaguar allowing people to order their cars with that as a delete option.

I don't think you can order an SVR with no spoiler; you can order one without the SVR spoiler but then it gets the standard F type active unit.
