Default Dash panels - Carbon Fiber vs Technical Weave

I've been gradually retrofitting the OEM Jag CF parts to my car as I find decent ones for sale on eBay or similar. So have done the external bits like the bonnet and fender vents and the mirrors. I've been holding out for a reasonably priced set of OEM CF dash panels which I thought I found last week. Now I have them they don't look very authentic at all and are marked up as "technical weave" on the Jaguar labelling. Is this what Jag pass off as the CF dash or is there yet another type that is skinned in real CF like the vents and mirror covers?

I'm thinking now that I have a spare set of panels to give the 3M CF wrapping a try as I quite like the finish on that

The Carbon Fiber bits that comprise the center console for my SVR was a $765.00 option. "Technical Weave" is not Carbon Fiber. If it doesn't say "Carbon Fiber" then it's not real Carbon Fiber. P/N LHD T2R5267:

Yes, it's very expensive! The 3D Carbon Fiber wraps are a great low cost alternative. I had my rear black plastic facia done in 3D Carbon Fiber wrap and no one can tell the difference!

Hope this helps!

I've ordered samples and rolls of
various carbon fiber wraps - 4, 5, 7, 8D and none look like real carbon from. From some angles the semi-gloss 8D looks okay but I put some on the front lip that is black and it looked like a cheap imitation. If you have something that looks like legit carbon, I would love to know where to get it. Thanks.

I've started to consider something for the "piano black" on the center console because it's not aging well. It's probably going to get a little shabbier before I'm sufficiently motivated, mostly due to the time involved in doing anything. I'm interested in what's out there for the time that motivation arrives.

The stuff I bought to try was 3M Di-NOC CA-421. I've only tested it by doing my satellite TV remote control so far (it was just there...) but I thought the result was fairly convincing. The thing is real CF has all manner of different finishes too and I suppose everyone has their own idea of what they think it should 'really' look like.

Just did the top bit. Cutting holes for the Sky button was not easy

If I get brave later and do a dash panel I shall post some pics for constructive criticism :-)

What CF wrap material did you use?

Check out the attached link. This product appears to really work. I purchased a kit but have not yet had it installed.

Here is a link to Koshi. They make carbon fibre trim pieces for the F-type. The quality is excellent.

For me the link above looks like it links to some kind of film

Here is the real Koshi site:

https://www.koshigroup.com/product-c...y/cars/jaguar/

This company seems to be based in TX and CA and has the exact same items, maybe they are a distributor?

Not sure of the quality, as I have never used them, but $349 for the carbon fiber interior is pretty amazing, even if it is just a cover and not a replacement

I have the Koshi center console trim, window switch and seat adjustment covers. I put them on with double sided automotive trim tape. Some of the parts like the window switch and center console cover around the shifter fit pretty snug and probably didn't need any tape but I put some on just to be safe. All in all I'm happy with the look.

I have it! It was a piece oif cake and looks great. I used a little thin 2sided tape in the corners just to be safe. It looks way more expensive than it is. Madness is where I bought all the pieces, center, door switch panel, out side mirrors, and steering wheel. Had to do some fitting on wheel as another forum member did. Generally came in quicker tham they said.

so you just put this on top of the trim?
it stays flush on the console?
I can see it is not on the door switches
